Key Features

This compact circular saw can essentially replace a DIYer's or professional's need for a full-size 7-1/4" circular saw. This saw was born to cut wood, especially 2" nominal lumber materials.
4-1/2" Compact Circular Saw - RK3441K | Rockwell Tools
Rockwell's new Compact Circular Saw with a 4½" blade cuts 2X4s in a single pass, and is about 50% lighter than conventional 7¼" circular saws. Plus, the lightweight saw's left-handed blade design provides remarkable cut-line visibility. This compact circular saw weighs only 5 lbs, so it is easy to transport and maneuver (especially overhead). The slim, inline grip design provides great comfort, balance and control.
The saw’s 4-1/2” blade has a kerf that is less than half the thickness of larger 7-1/4 in. circular saw blades. Since this smaller thinner blade takes much less effort and motor strain to cut through the material, the 5 amp, 3500 rpm saw can match the performance of full-size circular saws. The saw’s maximum cutting depth at 90° is 1-11/16” and its bevel capacity at 45° is 1-1/8”.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Too convenient I got this little saw because I started making chicken coops and dog houses. I was framing with 2x2s and 1x2s and using 3/8 plywood and luan. This thing was so powerful I was sing it on full 2x4s and 6s along with 1/2 and 3/4 plywood. The worm drive allowed it cut anything I put it to. Also, it's so compact it fits right in my toolbag. If I'm going on a roof or something, it fits in my nail pouch. A must have for quick easy access to a saw without taking out the full size. Honestly, I beat the heck out of it as my main saw. No signs of getting tired. I love this thing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I've only used this a few times, but for the few times, the jobs have been quick and smooth

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Would purchase another I would not rate this a 5, but it's not a 4 either. Holding both switches is a bit querky and very difficult to use left handed, sometimes there are cuts where you have to switch hands. I wouldn't call this the most ergonomic tool I've ever owned but it certainly has power and a place in my tool corral. I would like to see a greater selection of blades, especially fine tooth carbide. It would probably suit the one tool novice just fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I like the compact size without giving up power. I just received mine today and went right down the shop with it to see how well it cut 2/6s. Cut through with no problems. Over all it looks to be a great addition to my shop tools. Now how long it lasts? I don't know yet. Only one thing I don't like about the saw is the lock off button. I have small hands and it's hard to push the lock button and still be able to squeeze the on switch without almost using both hands.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Beautiful And Powerful Saw For It's Size I've used a number of hand held electric saws in my time and this one beats them all. When I watched and listened to it do a horizontal cut to replace the defective siding all the way around the house I could hardly believe how superior it was to the old, reliable, cumbersome, 7 1/4 inch saws we all have used. It really is a lightweight performer with a lot of muscle. I'm tickled that I bought it

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for light jobs Been using this to rip and cut 2x4 and plywood boards and aluminum sheets. Works perfectly with carbide blades.. Easy to maneuver. Built a jig using mdf and now I can cut really fast most plywood boards.
